2010 OUTCOME INFORMATION
Our outcome data for patients treated in 2010 indicates that the average patient in our Chronic Pain Program is represented by the following characteristics:
- Average patient length of disability (injury) prior to entering the program – 3.01 years
- Average number of days in program – 19.5 days.
- 74.4% of patients returned to some kind of work or school at one month post discharge.
– 34% returned to the same employer and same job.
– 2.1 % went to a different job and a different employer.
– 10.6% were self-employed
– 6.4% went to a school or work training program.
– 10.6% were involved in volunteer work.
– 4.3% were working part-time and receiving SSDI
– 6.4% were self-employed or volunteering and receiving SSDI
– 25.6% were not working at one month post discharge.
– 15% were simply not working yet.
– 8.3% were not working and receiving SSDI
– 2.1% were receiving a private disability policy
- Of patients on opiates at intake, 11% able to completely discontinue opiates by discharge
- 65% of patients showed a decrease in the number of medications from intake to discharge
- Average # of medications at intake = 7, average number at discharge = 5 (69% reduction)
- The average entry BDI-2 score was 21 (moderate), at discharge 12 (minimal).
- The average entry BAI score was 18 (moderate), at discharge 12 (mild).
- On a 0-10 Pain Scale, with 10 being the highest level of pain, the average entry pain level was 5.4, and at discharge, 4.8.
- Average change in forward flexion intake to discharge = 5” gain in ROM
- Average change in postural awareness intake to discharge = 46% improvement
- Average increase in walking (when 60 min = 100%) 20% improvement
- Average increase in sitting tolerance (where 60 min = 100%) 40% improvement
- Average increase in standing tolerance (where 60 min = 100%) 27% improvement
- Average improvement in single leg stance bilateral (where 60 sec=100%) 42% increase
- Patient satisfaction average score is 91%.
- Family satisfaction average score is 95%.
