Psychology
The psychologist works with physicians, psychotherapists, physical and occupational therapists to develop an individualized treatment plan and goals for the patient. The psychologist oversees the program and consults with the interdisciplinary team to maximize the patient’s progress.
Psychotherapy
Each individual attends daily coping skills training and educational sessions with the psychotherapist designed to address important issues significant to every pain patient. These sessions focus on teaching the patient about their condition and ways the pain can be managed. The psychotherapist also conducts interactive group therapy to focus on emotional and behavioral issues common among individuals suffering with chronic pain. Structured relaxation sessions are also provided to expose the patient to a broad range of techniques, in addition to individual therapy and biofeedback.
