Become A Patient
Becoming a patient at RestoreFx is a simple process that begins with getting in touch with our Program Manager, Keisha Sims, at 512-439-7360. Please call us and we can work with you and your doctors to help you become a patient and get you on your first step to restoration.
What can RestoreFx do for me?
We hear that a lot from patients with chronic pain. And that makes sense, most patients who have had pain for at least 6 months have tried several medications, various procedures and sometimes even different doctors. They have come to expect disappointment with pain care. Medications that have difficult side effects. Physical therapy that hurts but doesn’t help. Surgeries that don’t fix the problem but may cause other problems themselves and take a long time to heal from.
So what can RestoreFx do different? Why come here? A good analogy might be if you could think about building a house by having different parts of the house manufactured in different places and then having them all shipped to your lot so you can fit them together. Only when the roof arrives it is too big for the foundation. And the windows are too small for the holes left in the framing. And the flooring doesn’t match the cabinets. You get the picture. Lots of things can go wrong when there are different people involved in the process who are not communicating on a daily basis. So at RestoreFx all of our staff is here and all of our staff communicates all day long to make sure that if something happened in physical therapy in the morning that the medical doctor and the yoga instructor and the counselor and even the vocational team knows about it right away. This allows us to offer highly coordinated care that is just more effective.
Here’s another example. If a patient is in a class and starts to have a headache, instead of just having to go sit in a room alone and miss out on class they can go visit the physical therapist to see if maybe there are some stretches they can do or use heat or ice to help alleviate the headache. And the physical therapist can check with the medical doctor to make sure that the headaches are not a side effect of a recent medication change, and check with the yoga instructor to see what poses were done in yoga that morning. And the counseling staff can address fears that the headaches will never get better and the fact that sometimes it seems like life just isn’t worth it anymore. The counseling staff may also be able to guide the patient in some relaxation exercises that reduce muscle tension and may alleviate some of the headache.
Chronic pain is a complex issue, it takes more than just one approach and we have all of those approaches here under one roof. Plus our staff has worked together on hundreds of cases so we are a well-oiled machine and know how to use each other to achieve the best outcomes. If you come to RestoreFx you not only will you not be alone but you will have an entire team behind you that can address ALL of the areas where pain has changed your life. Only when all of these areas are addressed at the same time can you really RESTORE yourself back to a life worth living.
